As disciples of Jesus, we are called to “take every thought captive to obey Christ.” (2 Cor. 10:5 ESV) Our commitment to the Lordship of Christ involves not just our Sunday mornings and our Wednesday nights, but every aspect of our daily lives. We are called to develop a Christian worldview, thinking about all of life in light of the truth that God has revealed to us.
At Poplar Spring, we want to be about developing this Christian worldview. That’s why we’re launching a new church blog – www.psbchurch.wordpress.com.
For those who are not familiar with what a “blog” is, the simplest way to describe it is as an easily edited webpage where frequent posts can be made. The more important question is, “what are we trying to accomplish with this blog?” I’m glad you asked.
(1) We will post links to articles on the web that will help us think Christianly about our daily lives. Whether it is an article written by a Christian thinker on an ethical issue, a resource to help Christians become more biblical parents, or an essay written by a Baptist scholar laying out what exactly it means to be a “Baptist”, we want to connect you to the best resources available for growing in your faith.
(2) We will make available permanent links to the best bible study, theology, and Christian apologetics websites on the internet.
(3) We will also have articles written by our own church members posted for your enjoyment and edification.
(4) We will have an “ask the pastor” portion to the blog. If you have questions about issues that you are facing at work, questions about a passage in Scripture that you are having trouble understanding, or anything else that pertains to living the Christian life, Pastor Steven will take some time and answer your questions in writing. This is where we need your input! Please give us your questions via e-mail (ross@psbchurch.com or pastor@psbchurch.com ) or by calling the church office (919-496-3919)
We pray that this will be a positive resource for our church, helping us all to grow in our knowledge of God’s truth, so that we can “all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (Eph. 4:13 NIV)
